Troubleshooting
The failures people actually hit, and the fix for each one.
The failures people actually hit, roughly in order of how often.
Start here
Three checks fix most things, and they take under a minute:
- Reload the Reskale tab. The extension is detected on page load.
- Check the connection. An expired session at Connections explains most "nothing is working" reports.
- Check the extension is enabled at
chrome://extensions.
"Install the extension" when it is installed
The dashboard says the extension is missing and you can see it in your toolbar.
In order:
- Reload the Reskale tab. Detection happens on load, so a tab opened before the install never sees it.
- Confirm it is enabled at
chrome://extensions. - Confirm you are in the right browser profile. Profiles do not share extensions, and a second profile looks identical.
- Restart the browser.
Occasionally this message appears for a different reason: a request to the extension timed out. If everything is genuinely installed and enabled and the message persists, that is worth reporting.
Connection keeps expiring
Expected on Mercari, Depop and Vinted — they are browser sessions, not tokens. Vinted expires most aggressively.
What ends a session immediately:
- Logging out of the marketplace
- Changing your marketplace password
- Clearing cookies
- Using a different browser or profile
- A VPN that moves you between countries — particularly on Vinted
If one marketplace expires constantly while the others hold, check whether something in that list applies to it specifically.
Crossposts fail
Read the reason on the job. Every message and its fix: crosspost error messages.
The most common causes:
- Missing required field — add it to the item and retry.
- No shipping profile — Mercari and Depop require account-level shipping settings before any listing works. This blocks every listing, so it looks worse than it is.
- Connection expired — reconnect, retry.
- Category rejected — pick a different one.
Jobs stuck at Queued
- Mercari, Depop, Vinted — is your browser open? Is the extension enabled? These jobs run in your browser and cannot proceed without it.
- eBay, Discogs — check the connection.
Large batches are paced deliberately and take a while. A batch where nothing has moved at all is different from a slow one.
Sales are missing
- Check the 90-day window. Older sales are not in Sales.
- Press Sync.
- Check the connection for the marketplace with missing sales.
- Look for a cut-off date. If sales from one marketplace stop abruptly on a particular day, that is when its connection expired.
More: sync and connection issues.
Listings show as live but are gone
Ended on the marketplace, or delisted elsewhere. Use Mark as not listed on the item to correct it.
Stale rows are misleading in both directions: they overstate what is for sale, and they make auto-delist chase listings that no longer exist.
The same item appears twice
Imported separately from two marketplaces, which have no shared identifier.
Inventory → Duplicates merges them. Do this before relying on auto-delist — it can only pull siblings down if it knows the two listings are one item.
Auto-delist is not finding anything
- Press Sync first. It needs both halves current: what sold, and what is still live.
- Check for duplicate items. No link between the records means no sweep.
- Multi-quantity listings are skipped on purpose — you sold one of five and still have four.
A Vinted verification challenge
Vinted uses bot detection that sometimes presents a challenge, and it cannot be cleared in a background tab.
Open Vinted normally in your browser, clear whatever it asks, then retry.
Everything on one marketplace broke at once
Usually one of two things:
- The connection expired. Check and reconnect.
- The marketplace changed its site. For extension-driven marketplaces, a redesign breaks form filling until the extension is updated. Make sure Chrome is auto-updating extensions, and if it persists, report it — contacting support.
Still stuck
Contacting support covers what to include so the first reply is useful rather than a request for more detail.
