Sync and connection issues
Missing sales, stale listings, and connections that keep expiring.
Missing sales, stale listings, and connections that will not stay connected.
How sync works
Two mechanisms, and which one a marketplace uses explains most of its behaviour.
eBay and Discogs sync server-side over OAuth. They work whether or not your browser is open.
Mercari, Depop and Vinted sync using the stored session. Background sync works without your browser open — that is why the session is stored server-side at all — but listing actions need the extension and an open browser.
Sync runs in the background and on demand. Press Sync on any screen that has one.
Sales are missing
In order:
- Check the window. Sales shows 90 days. Older sales are not deleted; they are outside the view.
- Press Sync.
- Check the connection for that marketplace.
- Look for a cut-off date. If sales from one marketplace stop abruptly on a particular day and there are none after, that is the day its connection expired. Reconnect, then sync — the backlog comes in.
If sales are missing from every marketplace, that is different from one marketplace being quiet. Report it.
Listings are stale
Reskale shows a listing as live that is not, or misses one that is.
- Re-import from Connections. Import adds and updates; it does not delete.
- Mark as not listed on items that are no longer live.
- Link existing listing for a listing you posted by hand that Reskale does not know about.
Import deliberately never deletes. A single short API response would otherwise wipe rows that were fine, and reconstructing them is far more work than correcting one stale row.
A connection will not stay connected
Session connections expire. Expected, not a defect.
Typical lifetimes while you stay logged in:
- Mercari, Depop — weeks.
- Vinted — shorter, and the most sensitive of the three.
What ends one immediately: logging out, changing your password, clearing cookies, switching browser or profile, or a VPN that moves you between countries.
If one marketplace expires far more often than the others, check whether any of those apply to it specifically. VPNs and Vinted are a common pairing.
Sync seems slow
Some of this is deliberate and not worth working around.
- Vinted tracking lookups are budgeted and backed off on purpose. Vinted rate-limits aggressive polling, and being throttled means no tracking at all rather than slow tracking.
- Large imports run a second pass on marketplaces whose listing grid does not carry full detail. Two hundred items takes meaningfully longer than twenty.
- Extension-driven work is serial. Real pages, one at a time.
Duplicate rows
Duplicate items — the same physical item imported from two marketplaces. Merge at Inventory → Duplicates.
Duplicate sales should not happen; orders are deduplicated on the marketplace's own identifier. If you see the same sale twice, report it with the order ID.
Nothing syncs at all
- Reload the Reskale tab.
- Check every connection.
- Check the extension is enabled.
- Try one marketplace's Sync on its own to see whether it is all of them or one.
If all marketplaces fail at once, and connections look healthy, that points at something on Reskale's side rather than yours. Report it with the time it started.
Reporting a sync problem
Include:
- Which marketplace.
- What is missing, with a specific example — an order ID, a listing.
- When it last worked.
- Whether the connection shows as connected.
